NEW WILMINGTON, Pa./LEWISBURG, Pa. (Apr. 11)- The Saint Vincent women's track and field team competed at both the Westminster College Invite and the Bucknell Bison Classic on Saturday.
Grace Neubert highlighted the Bucknell Invite for the Bearcats, setting the program record in the 5000-meter race. Neubert raced a Saint Vincent program record time of 17:14.44, which is her lifetime best run in the event as well.
Lily Murphy and
Cassy Lanza were also strong for the Bearcats at the event as well. Murphy recorded a time of 4:48.31 in the 1500-meter race, which is a Mid-Atlantic regional qualifying time. Lanza finished just behind Murphy, racing a time of 5:05.89 in the same event.
In the 800-meter race, freshman
Jane Huss recorded a personal best time of 2:22.78 for the Bearcats.
At Westminster,
Madelyn Hopsicker (12.88) and
Gabrielle Dove (12.91) finished 13th and 14th for Saint Vincent respectively in the 100-meter dash.
Caroline Kozera added a 13th place (17.03) finish for SVC in the 100-meter hurdles, while Hopsicker also finished 11th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.63 seconds.
Samantha Straub added a top-15 (12th place) finish in the 400-meter hurdles, racing a time of 1:10.74 for the Bearcats in the event.
Saint Vincent returns to action on Saturday, April 18, competing in the Baldwin Wallace Sparky Adams Invitational in Berea, Ohio. The invitational is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. next Saturday.
