GREENWOOD, Ind. (May 17)- Four Saint Vincent College women's tennis student athletes were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team, announced by the CSC last week.
The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Women's Tennis teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes women's tennis honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
To be eligible for the honor, you must be at least a sophomore, obtain at least a 3.50 GPA, and be in the lineup for at least 75% of matches that include team scores.
The Bearcats four recipients were seniors Carolina Walters and Emily Pierce, along with junior Rachel Zgurich, and sophomore Sydney McWreath. Additionally, Walters was added to the Academic All-America ballot, which will be voted on by CSC members and announced later this month.
Walters earns Academic All-District honors for the fourth consecutive year. Last week, she was named Saint Vincent's recipient of the PAC Scholar Athlete of the Year Award and also earned Saint Vincent's prestigious Kristen Zawacki Award earlier this spring, which which honors an excellent student athlete who demonstrated service to the Saint Vincent College community. Walters concluded her Saint Vincent career with another impressive season. She became the all-time winningest player in program history, compiling over 100 career victories. The senior went an impressive 14-1 overall, including 7-1 in PAC matches during the fall, all in the top singles position. She earned First Team All-PAC honors during the season as well.
Pierce picked up five doubles victories, including ending the season on a three-game doubles match win streak. She also picked up a win in number two singles (6-2, 1-6, 1-0 (10-2)) against SUNY-Fredonia in March.
Zgurich went 6-7, including 2-4 in PAC play in singles over the course of the season. Additionally, she picked up four wins in doubles play during the year as well. The junior ended her season with a 6-2, 6-0 win against Pitt-Greensburg in the number two singles position. She also picked up a 6-2 victory in number two doubles in that match as well.
McWreath picked up six wins in singles during her sophomore season, including two wins in PAC play. The sophomore also picked up six wins in doubles play as well.
