LATROBE, Pa. (Aug. 11)- Saint Vincent College along with Athletic Director and Head Men's Basketball Coach D.P. Harris hosted a basketball shooting clinic inside the college's brand new Dunlap Family Athletic and Recreation Center this past Sunday.

Greg "The Shot Doctor" Cercone was the lead instructor at the camp and instructed for almost two hours to over 100 boys and girls basketball players between the ages of 8-18 years old. Earlier this summer, the Saint Vincent women's basketball program and Head Coach Kam Gissendanner hosted their Nike Women's Basketball Camp inside the center as well.

Led by Cercone, the shooting clinic focused on shooting fundamentals and skill development. Participants worked through a variety of drills designed to improve shooting technique, footwork, form. More than simply a basketball clinic, the event marked an important first for the Dunlap Athletic and Recreation Center and provided Saint Vincent with another opportunity to open its newest facility to the community.

"This was a special day for Saint Vincent College and to show off our brand new Dunlap Center," Harris said. "To have young athletes from our community come onto our campus and be part of the first basketball clinic held inside the Dunlap Center is exactly what we envisioned for this facility. We want this to be a place that brings people together, and it was exciting to see that happening on the basketball court."

The Dunlap Athletic and Recreation Center was designed to serve the entire Saint Vincent community while also providing additional opportunities for the College to engage with the surrounding region. The basketball clinic represented one of the first opportunities to showcase the versatility of the new facility through youth and community programming. Harris, along with members of the Saint Vincent men's basketball staff, including Dan Stoner and Dan Szramowski helped facilitate the drills and set up of the camp.

"We look forward to hosting more of these clinics in the future," Harris explained. "This center will be a great piece for our entire Saint Vincent community and the surrounding areas. We look forward to continuing to grow our community and create life long memories on campus and this building is a great place to do that."
