Biography
2015-16: Named First-Team All-PAC at the conclusion of the season. Averaged 14.4 points per game while pulling down 5.0 rebounds per contest. The Frostburg, Md. native was the top free throw shooter in the league, converting 85.3 of his attempts at the charity stripe. Jones also ranked in the top 10 in field goal percentage as well, connecting on 48 percent of his field goal attempts. Jones saved his best for the postseason, averaging a team-high 19 points per game and converting 51.3 percent from the field in the PAC Tournament, helping SVC to its fourth straight championship. Jones then poured home a game-high 23 points in a NCAA Tournament First Round loss to John Carroll. Jones finished his Bearcat career with 943 points. Jones was also named to the All-Tournament Team at the D3hoops.com Classic in Las Vegas back in December.
2014-15: Â Had a breakout year, appearing in 28 games with 27 starts and earning All-PAC Second Team honors. Â Averaged 13.3 points, second best on the team, along with 5.0 rebounds per game. Â Scored 20+ points in three games, with a high of 24 aginst Thomas More on 2/26 in the PAC Playoffs. Â Also scored 22 against Westminster in post-season play on 2/24, and had 20 in the season-opener against Denison on 11/14. Had a double-double against Trine on 12/29 in the Case Western Tournament, with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Â Shot 40.2% from outside the arc for the season.
2013-14: Â Appeared in all 29 games, making four starts. Â Averaged 5.3 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. Â Scored career-best 15 points against Penn State-New Kensington on December 4. Â Had 8 rebounds against Penn State-Fayette on January 2. Â Played 48 minutes in 4OT marathon game at Thiel (Feb 5). Â Had 5 assists against Westminster on February 1. Â
2012-13:Â Appeard in 15 games as a freshman, scoring 5 points and adding four rebounds and 2 steals.
HIGH SCHOOL: Four-year member of the basketball team at Bishop Walsh. Also was a high jumper on the track team for two seasons. Named to the All-City and All-Area teams in basketball, and was Player of the Year in 2011-12. Averaged 17.2 points per game his senior season and was a 1000-point scorer.
PERSONAL: Son of Ed and Jenny Jones. Is a second-generation Bearcat basketball player.
