Saint Vincent College

2024: Made 13 appearances on the mound, including one start during his senior season for the Bearcats... pitched 17.1 innings, giving up 19 earned runs on 32 hits, while also striking out eight batters as well... pitched scoreless outings in relief against the Apprentice School (3/16), Washington and Jefferson (3/27), Westminster (4/13), and Lycoming on April 21.

2023: Appeared in 15 games on the mound with two starts as a junior ... went 3-1 with a 4.84 ERA in 35.1 innings pitched, while also striking out 18 batters ... pitched a season-high 5.2 innings pitched, giving up four runs on six hits, while striking out three batters in the game at Mount Aloysius on March 21.

2022: Member of the PAC Academic Honor Roll ... Appeared in seven games, starting in two of those games all on the mound ... Went 2-1 with a career low 4.43 ERA in 22.1 innings, striking out 19 batters and walking just six ...  Pitched a career high 6.2 innings in a win at Chatham on April 3, shutting out the Cougars, giving up just four hits, and struck out six batters.

2021:  Appeared in five games as a freshman. Pitched in all five games, finishing with three strikeouts in five innings of work. Member of the PAC Academic Honor Roll.

HIGH SCHOOL: Four year member of the baseball team at Trinity High School. Was awarded Mid Penn 2nd Team All Conference. Was an All-Senteniel and All-PennLive honorable mention. Received the Michael Paduano and Sisters of Cyril and Methodius Servant Leadership awards.

PERSONAL: Son of Scott Root Sr. and Shannon Root. Majoring in History with a minor in Secondary Education.
