Biography

2016: Appeared in 27 games, making 20 starts as a senior. Served as the team's primary first baseman. Ranked second among regulars in batting average (.361), scored 11 runs and drove in 10 runs. Had the game-winning walkoff single on Senior Day against Waynesburg on April 29, as part of a 3-5 day at the plate in his final college game. Posted a .985 fielding percentage. Had five multi-hit games in a row during a stretch from April 15 through April 19. 

2015: Batted .143 in 15 games, with 3 starts. Registered 2 hits and drove in 1 run. 

2014:  Batted .316 in 14 games, with three starts.  Drove in four runs.  Had a fielding percentage of 1.000 with 41 chances.  Pitched in one game, working 1.1 innings.  

2013:  Appeared in six varsity games, starting two.  Batted .143 (1-for-7) with one double.  

HIGH SCHOOL:  Four year member of the baseball and soccer teams.  Earned two letters in baseball, one in soccer.

PERSONAL:  Son of Andy and Gail Vater.  Majoring in History with a minor in Education.
