The Bearcats defeated Penn State-Altoona on the road by a score of 4-3, thanks to an overtime goal by
Elom Pedanou.
Gage Arnold got the Bearcats on the board just over 9 minutes into the game, scoring off a deflection. Eighteen minutes later, Pedanou scored his first goal of the game, off a pass from
Christian Samoy, to give the visiting Bearcats a 2-0 lead.
However, with less than a minute remaining in the first half, Altoona cut the Bearcat lead in half, then tied the game eleven minutes into the second half.
In the 70th minute, defender
Ben Skvarca moved downfield to take a direct kick, and thanks to a deflection, scored the go-ahead goal for the Bearcats. Once again, however, the Lions tied the game, this time with just over six minutes remaining in regulation.
The teams went to overtime, in in the 99th minute, Samoy sent a cross into the box, finding
Kyle Thompson who headed the ball to Pedanou for the winning goal.
Jake Gilbertson picked up the victory in the net, posting 9 saves. On the evening, Altoona outshot SVC by a 19-14 margin. Each team registered two shots in overtime.
The Bearcats move to 2-6-2 with the win, while the Lions drop to 3-6.
