FULL RESULTS
The Saint Vincent men's and women's swimming teams faced a tough task in their Presidents' Athletic Conference opening match, as both were defeated by perennial power Grove City College.
The Lady Bearcats were defeated 156-111, while the Bearcat men lost 163-93.
Sophomore
Katie Custer led the Lady Bearcats on the day, as she earned second in the 50 Free (25.57) and third in the 100 Free (56.71), while she joined teammates
Jess Kennedy,
Maggie Dempsey, and
Mary Kate Kenna to take third in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:59.56.
Kennedy added a second place finish in the 200 Back (2:29.97) and a third in the 200 Fly (2:30.95), while Kenna took second in the 200 Breaststroke (2:38.86) and third in the 200 IM (2:27.04).
Alexis Milinski finished second in the 100 Breast, with a lifetime best time of 1:12.71, while
Sarah Denning picked up a pair of third place finishes, as she was timed in 1:10.25 in the 100 Back and 2:36.20 in the 200 Back,
Carolyn Claybrooks led the Lady Bearcats in the 1,650 Free, finishing third with a time of 19:18.
In men's action,
Zack Krejdovsky finished second in the 1,650 Free, with a lifetime mark of 18:09.44.
Logan Dorminey earned a second place finish in the 50 Free (23.99), while he teamed up with
Adam Thomas,
Matt Linebaugh, and
Troy Linebaugh to finish second in the 200 Free Relay, with a time of 1:34.90.
Dan Kostovny led the Bearcats in the 200 Back, with a third place time of 2:26.98.
Both Bearcat swimming teams will now have a week long layoff before returning to action next Saturday afternoon, when they travel to the University of Pittsburgh-Bradford.
