GREENWOOD, Ind. (Apr. 7)- Seven Saint Vincent men's and women's swimmers were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team, announced by the CSC earlier today.
On the women's side,
Sydney Burton,
Brook McDermott,
Ashley Thiel, and
Fallyn Zembiec earned the honors for the Bearcats. On the men's side,
Hayden Klein,
Anton Seifert, and
Giovanni Guido picked up the award for the Bearcats.
To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher and must be a standout in the pool, competing in at least five competitions or finished top-eight at their conference championship meet.
Burton totaled four points for the Bearcats at the PAC Championship Meet, competing in the 500-yard freestyle, 50-yard freestyle, 400-yard IM, and 200-yard butterfly.
McDermott swam a leg on the Bearcats third place 800-yard freestyle relay team, while picking up a sixth place finish in the 1650-yard freestyle at the PAC Championship Meet.
Thiel also swam in the all of the Bearcats meets this season, wile competing in the 800-yard freestyle relay, 500-yard freestyle, 200-yar freestyle relay, 1650-yard freestyle, and 200-yard backstroke at the PAC Championship.
Zembiec picked up a third place result on the Bearcats 800-yard freestyle relay team, while finishing fifth in the 400-yard medley relay, second in the 100-yard backstroke, and fourth in the 200-yard backstroke at the PAC Championships.
Klein helped the Bearcats to a sixth place finish in the 800-yard freestyle relay at the PAC Championship, while Seifert earned an eighth place result in the 100-yard backstroke and a seventh place result in the 200-yard backstroke for Saint Vincent.
Guido picked swam a leg on the Bearcats third place 800-yard freestyle relay team, while finishing sixth in the 200-yard IM, fifth in the 400-yard IM, and sixth in the 200-yard backstroke at the PAC Championships.
