FULL RESULTS
The Saint Vincent men's and swimming teams were swept by Presidents' Athletic Conference power Westminster, with the Lady Bearcats falling 140-101, and the SVC men losing 133.5-95.5.
The Lady Bearcats' Carolyn Claybrooks accounted for the team's lone first-place individual finish of the day, winning the 1000 Freestyle with a time of 11:22.78. She also added a second-place finish in the 100 Butterfly, with a time of 1:07.56, before joining up with teammates Katie Custer, Jess Kennedy, and Maggie Dempsey to close the day out with a win in the 200 Free Relay, with a time of 1:45.50.
Christine Dunleavy took second in the 100 Breaststroke, with a time of 1:10.66, while Mary Kate Kenna took second in the 200 Breaststroke, timed in 2:43.77.
Third-place finishes for the Lady Bearcats included Dunleavy in the 100 Free, Alexis Milinski in the 200 Breaststroke, and Kennedy in the 200 Butterfly.
The Bearcat men were led on the day by freshman Sam Cline, who posted a first-place time of 10:43.29 in the 1000 Freestyle. Troy Linebaugh tied for second in the 50 Free, with a time of 23.60, while Michael Gruss added a second-place finish in the 200 Butterfly, timed in 2:20.48.
Saint Vincent's 200 Free Relay squad of Logan Dorminey, Troy Linebaugh, Matt Linebaugh, and Adam Thomas took second with a time of 1:33.91, while Thomas took third in the 200 Back, Casey Whittaker in the 200 Free, Matt Linebaugh in the 100 Free, and Tyler Grigg in the 1000 Free.
The defeat drops the SVC men's record to 4-7 overall, and 1-3 in the PAC, while the Lady Bearcats fall to 6-6/1-4.
The Bearcat swimmers will wrap up the regular season next Saturday afternoon, hosting a non-conference meet with Division-II Fairmont State University at 1pm in the Resnik Pool, for SVC's final tuneup before the 2011 PAC Championships which begin on Feb. 17th.
