La Roche scored the only goal of the game on a penalty kick with just under 20 seconds left in the first half to defeat the Saint Vincent men's soccer team, 1-0.

With 19 seconds before the half, La Roche's Mark D'Uva converted the penalty kick opportunity past SVC keeper Jake Gilbertson to give the hosts the lead.

On the afternoon, La Roche out-shot the Bearcats, 23-13, and took nine more corner kicks, 13-4. Junior Anthony Balistreri led SVC with six shots on the afternoon.

Gilbertson made eight saves in 88 minutes, while freshman Eric Houghton played two minutes, making no saves.

SVC returns home to host King's (PA) on Sunday, Sept. 18 at 1 p.m.
