Presidents streak past Bearcats, 5-0

WASHINGTON, Pa. (Oct. 6) - The Saint Vincent men's soccer team dropped a 5-0 decision at Washington & Jefferson in Presidents' Athletic Conference action.

The Bearcats fall to 5-7-1 on the season and remain winless in PAC action at 0-3. W&J improves to 3-5-2 on the year and 1-1-1 in league play.

W&J took a 1-0 lead into the first half with a goal in the 22nd minute before adding four more goals in the second half.

The Presidents struck just 3:07 into the second half, and then added another goal only 1:46 later to expand the lead to 3-0. They then registered a pair of scores just 23 seconds apart at 70:04 and 70:27.

For the game, W&J held a staggering 27-7 advantage on shots. Junior Luke D'Amico was the lone Bearcat with multiple shots, tallying a pair of shots.

Senior Clemente Mejia suffered the loss in goal, playing 84:08 and allowing three goals while making 12 saves.

SVC returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 9, hosting Waynesburg at 4 p.m. on the SVC Turf.
