FULL RESULTS
The Saint Vincent men's and women's swimming teams each earned a pair of victories as the both defeated Buffalo State and Pitt-Bradford in a tri-meet held at Pitt-Bradford.
The men defeated Buffalo State, 85-37, and the hosts 72-50, while the women topped Buffalo State 76-45, and Pitt-Bradford, 89-28.
The SVC women set three pool records on the day, two in relay events and one individual.
Molly McCloskey set a record in the 1000 Free, with a time of 11:25.35, more than 27 seconds ahead of her nearest competitor, teammate
Jayna Cline.
The 400 Medley Relay team of
Jess Smrekar,
Mary Kate Kenna,
Alyssa Taylor and
Allison Friery won in a pool record 4:21.08, winning by over two seconds.
The 200 Free Relay team of
Katie Custer,
Carolyn Claybrooks, Friery and
Alexis Ferraco set a pool record with a time of 1:44.41, a solid five seconds ahead of Buffalo State.
Claybrooks was a three time winner on the day, also capturing first in the 200 Free and 100 Butterfly.
For the men,
Zach Ligus was also a three-time winner, taking top honors in the 200 Free and 500 Free individual events, and as part of the 200 Free Relay team with
Matt Linebaugh,
Casey Whittaker and
Allen Sant.
The Bearcats return to action on Friday, hosting Mount Union at 430PM.
