BOX SCORE - GAME TWO

Shauna Hetrick earned the victory as Saint Vincent defeated Misericordia University by a score of 3-1 in Clermont, FL.  SVC completed the split doubleheader with an 8-1 loss against Lebanon Valley College.

Misericordia got off to a quick start, scoring on a walk and a triple in the top of the second to take a 1-0 lead, but it would be their only run of the game.

Saint Vincent scored all three of its runs in the third.  Shannon Hite led off with a triple, and after Lindsey Daniels walked, Maria Adams drove home both runners with a double.  Becky Deane then singled home Adams with an insurance run, and Hetrick took care of the rest, giving up just five hits while striking out six en route to the win.

Against Lebanon Valley, SVC scored in the first inning, as Hite led off the game with a single, then stole second.  After Daniels walked, both runners moved up on a passed ball.  A groundout by Adams scored Hite and the Bearcats were in front, 1-0.

However, the rest of the game belonged to Lebanon Valley, as SVC struggled defensively.  Mikele Prokopovich took the loss in the circle, but only four of LVC's runs were earned.  She struck out four in six innings of work.

Saint Vincent is now 2-2 on the season, and will face John Carroll University at 9AM on Tuesday, followed by a game at 11 against Marywood University.
