BOX SCORE

The Saint Vincent men's lacrosse team won its second straight game, downing Thiel College on the road under the dome in Greenville by a score of 15-8, as senior Will DeLanoy became the program's all-time leading scorer.

DeLanoy entered the day just one point shy of Ian Poole's school record of 223 career points.  After Thiel had taken a 1-0 lead four minutes into play, DeLanoy equaled the record by setting up Shane Rudolf with the game-tying goal.

Saint Vincent then took control of the game, with Matt Mackey, Dominique Wormley and Mike Diggs scoring within a 2 1/2 minute span to make it 4-1.  Less than 30 seconds after Diggs' goal, DeLanoy put his name atop the record standings with an unassisted goal, the 224th point of his Bearcat career.  By the end of the day, he had amassed three goals and two assists, giving him 227 points for his career.

Thiel managed to close the gap back to three goals, 5-2, late in the first quarter.  However, SVC responded with five more unanswered goals to put the game out of reach.

Behind DeLanoy's five points, Nick Pensyl had a goal and two assists, while Diggs had two goals.  Kevin Vawter tallied a goal and an assist.  In all, 12 Bearcats recorded goals on the afternoon, and the team posted 57 shots compared to just 27 for the Tomcats.

Adam Gunter played the first 54 minutes, allowing six goals and recording five saves.  Eugene Jones completed the game in the net for Saint Vincent.

With the win, the Bearcats are now 3-7 on the season.  Next up will be a matchup against Ohio Wesleyan at home on Wednesday afternoon.
