The Saint Vincent men's basketball team held off a determined challenge from Geneva College, winning by a score of 75-64 in the Carey Center.

Both teams struggled to score in the early going, as the score was tied, 9-9, before Ben Klimchock hit a three for the Bearcats at the 11:50 mark to put the hosts in front, 12-9.

After a Geneva free throw cut the gap to just two, SVC embarked on a 17-0 run, started by four straight points from Chris Klimchock, which lasted nearly four minutes.

With 4:40 to go in the half, a three from Isaac Turner ran the lead to its highest point, 20 points, 34-14.  At the half, SVC led by a 39-21 tally.

However, the Golden Tornadoes kept the Bearcats off the board for more than five minutes at the start of the second half, while scoring 10 points of their own to make it a 39-31 contest.  Geneva continued to cut into the margin, with a Keynon Jackson bucket at the 10:50 mark dropping the Bearcat lead to just five, 46-41.

SVC then regrouped, with Sean Kett scoring four straight points to extend the lead to nine.  Later, a 9-2 Bearcat run put the game out of reach, as SVC remained undefeated in the Presidents' Athletic Conference, now 6-0 on the year (11-4 overall).

Four players scored in double figures for the Bearcats, led by Dillon Stith and Chris Klimchock, each with 13.  Ben Klimchock added 11, while JC Howard scored 10.  Howard also led the team with 5 rebounds.

Geneva (1-5 PAC, 1-13 overall) was led by Matt Lorello with 17 points.  Jackson added 16 off the bench.

Saint Vincent returns to action on Saturday, traveling to Kentucky for a matchup against the Thomas More Saints.
