The Saint Vincent football team dropped to 0-5 on the season with a 30-3 loss on the road to Thiel College in a Presidents' Athletic Conference game.
The Tomcats used an 8-play 57-yard scoring drive that took up the first five minutes of the game, and was capped off by a 3-yard run by Thiel's Rich Kolesar. In the first quarter, the Bearcats were only on the field for one drive, with Thiel having two and taking up almost 12 minutes of possession.

While the Bearcats punted on their first three possessions, the Tomcats added three more points on an 18-yard field goal by Jon Fennick that capped off a 10-play 46-yard drive giving them the 10-0 lead. The Tomcats threatened later in the first half, but
Dwayne Brown had a diving interception in the end zone to keep the game at 10-0 until halftime.

The Bearcats started off the second half with the ball and showed signs of momentum after
Morgan Porter made a 37-yard field goal to finish a 12-play 50-yard drive, making it 10-3 in favor of the Tomcats.

After the teams traded punts on the next four possessions, Thiel took control in the fourth quarter when Josh Potter broke free for a 59 yard run through the Bearcat defense, taking a 17-3 advantage. Two minutes later, Rob Edwards stepped in front of an
Andy Borgen pass and returned it for a 47-yard touchdown, extending the lead to 24-3.

After another Thiel interception, the hosts drove down to the red zone and with 8:05 left, scored from 12 yards out on a Ryan Radke pass to Tim Walker, putting the final at 30-3.

For the Bearcats,
Ryan Crawford was the leading rusher with nine carries for 34 yards and
Andy Borgen had 12 rushes for 19 yards.

Borgen was also 12-23 for 87 yards passing, throwing two interceptions while
Greg Hendershot was 3-5 for 12 yards.
Matt Duffey led all receivers pulling in 5 balls for 37 yards.

Defensively, Saint Vincent recorded 5 tackles for loss (and 2.0 sacks). Led by
Renny LaRue-Holloman's career-high 17 tackles on the day, which tied Anthony Johnson's single game record from 2010 against Bethany and Washington and Jefferson.
Nick Nitowski added nine tackles with (1.5 for loss and a half sack), while
Dwayne Brown registered six tackles along with an interception.

With the loss, Saint Vincent drops to 0-5 (0-3 in the PAC) and Thiel picks up their first win of the season, improving to 1-5 (1-3).

The Bearcats will travel next Saturday October 19, to Beaver Falls, PA to take on Geneva. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 P.M.
