MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (Dec. 10)- Junior Saint Vincent wide receiver
Chris Downs has been named All-Region by D3Football.com
Downs (Gambrills, Md./Arundel) was named Third Team All-Region as a wide receiver and will now be placed on the D3Football.com All-America ballot. The Bearcats are a part of District two, which is comprised of athletes from the Centennial Conference, Empire 8, Landmark Conference, Liberty League, New Jersey Athletic Conference and Presidents' Athletic Conference.
The junior receiver led the PAC in both receiving yards (1,205) and touchdowns (17) over the course of the season. Downs ranked in the top-10 in the entire country in both of those categories as well.
Downs set multiple program records over the course of the season as well. Downs is now the single season record holder for touchdowns and receiving yards. He also set a single-game program record with 279 receiving yards and four touchdowns in the Bearcats game at Geneva on September 20.
Downs recorded over 100 receiving yards in seven of Saint Vincent's ten games this year, while he was named the PAC Offensive Player of the Week during the first week of the season as well.
He becomes just the fourth player in Saint Vincent program history to be named D3Football.com All-Region, joining return specialist Molayo Irefin (2022), tight end Ryan Crawford (2016), and return specialist Darius Brown (2014).
The teams, selected in balloting by Region 2 sports information directors and D3football.com staff, were chosen from 240 nominations by full Division III member schools. A total of 79 players were chosen. Players nominated for All-Region are eligible to be considered for D3football.com All-America honors, which will be announced Monday, Dec. 22, 2025.
