GREENWOOD, Ind. (Jan. 6)- Five Saint Vincent College football players earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors.
Senior
Justin Emeigh, along with junior
Tyler Harpst, and sophomores
Nile Thomas,
Nathan Parker, and
Matthew Davis all earned the honors for the Bearcats.
To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher and must be a standout on the field, competing in at least 90 percent of their team's games and starting at least 66 percent of their team's games.
Emeigh was one of the best kickers in the entire PAC during his senior campaign. The senior kicker went 5-7 on field goals, including a successful 44-yard field goal, which was the second longest in program history. He was a perfect 33-33 on point after touchdowns as well.
Harpst was a key piece to the Bearcats secondary, starting in all 10 games. The junior recorded 54 tackles, including 3.5 tackles for loss and one sack over the course of the season.Â
Thomas played in all 10 games for Saint Vincent as well. On the defensive line, he totaled 28 tackles, including 2.5 tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks as well for Saint Vincent.
Parker led the Bearcats in tackles from the linebacker position earning All-PAC Honorable Mention honors earlier this offseason. The sophomore recorded 92 total tackles, including 46 solo tackles, eight tackles for loss, including 2.5 sacks. He also forced one fumble, scooped up one fumble recovery and recorded three pass breakups.
Davis was a key piece in the Bearcats backfield during his sophomore season. He played in nine games for the Bearcats, carrying the ball 55 times for 338 yards, while scoring four touchdowns. He also caught four passes out of the backfield during the season as well.
