In their final game before the start of the conference schedule, the SVC men's soccer team lost to Penn State-Altoona by a score of 6-0.
The Lions got on the board in the 10th minute when Quinn Oyler set up Logan DeNicola for the game's first goal.
SVC, playing without two regular starters, had trouble in its defensive end in the 28th minute, as Oyler was able to dribble past two defenders and get himself into a one-on-one situation against Bearcat keeper
Eric Houghton from point-blank range. Oyler's goal made it 2-0.
The visitors added another goal in the 38th minute to take a 3-0 lead into the break.
Altoona then added three second half goals, all off rebounds inside the box, to secure the win.
The Lions out-shot Saint Vincent by a 23-10 margin on the day.
Hougton took the loss in the net but recorded 9 saves.
Both teams are now 2-8 on the season. SVC will now begin Presidents' Athletic Conference play, facing Washington & Jefferson College on the road on Tuesday at 5PM.
