GROVE CITY, Pa. (Oct. 30) - The Saint Vincent men's soccer team saw its hopes at a 2013 Presidents' Athletic Conference tournament bid ended with a 3-0 loss at Grove City.
The loss drops the Bearcats to 2-5 in the conference and 4-13 overall. Meanwhile, the Wolverines, who clinched a playoff berth, improve to 4-1-2 in the league and 8-5-4 overall.
The hosts scored in the 18th minute to take a 1-0 lead, but SVC battled to keep the game close despite a 16-6 shot deficit and 10-1 corner kick disadvantage in the first 45 minutes.
Grove City opened the lead to 2-0 just 3:27 into the second half, before adding an insurance goal in the 80th minute, 3-0.
For the match, Grove City out-shot Saint Vincent, 33-14, and took 12 corner kicks to SVC's six. Junior

Eric Houghton made an impressive 14 saves, matching his career high set earlier this season against Geneva.
