WASHINGTON, Pa. (Oct. 8) - Washington & Jefferson used a pair of second-half goals to defeat the Saint Vincent men's soccer team, 2-0, in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at Alexandre Stadium.
The loss drops the Bearcats to 2-9 on the season with an 0-1 mark in the PAC. The Presidents improve to 2-0 in the league and 7-4 this year.
The two teams played a scoreless first half despite W&J holding a 10-4 shot advantage at intermission. Junior goalkeeper
Eric Houghton recorded six of his eight saves on the day in the first 45 minutes.
The hosts found the back of the net 6:56 into the second half when Cody Peddicord scored off a cross in front of the net. At 72:18 W&J added an insurance goal by Sam Sestito who went low right on Houghton.
