A goal by Tim Field with 2:28 left in the second overtime period lifted the visiting Waynesburg Yellow Jackets to a 3-2 victory over the Bearcats in the final game of the season.

Brody Ruffner scored just five minutes into play, giving the hosts a 1-0 lead, thanks to assists from Christian Trueax and Scott Luthy.

However, the Yellow Jackets answered back six minutes later, with Cody Lemke heading home a pass from David Nicholl.

With the score tied at 1-1 in the 35th minute, Waynesburg keeper Brandon Daughtry was given a red card for contact with a Bearcat player, leaving the visitors shorthanded the remainder of the day.

Four minutes later, SVC took advantage of the opportunity, with Kevin Proctor floating a pass into the 18 yard box, where Scott Luthy headed it into the upper right corner of the net, giving SVC a 2-1 advantage.

However, the shorthanded Jackets refused to quit, tying the game just 90 seconds later on a through-ball from Colin Nelson to Victor Browne.

It took 67 more minutes before the game's next goal, the "golden goal" by Fields.   Zack Morgan took a shot for Waynesburg that forced SVC keeper Eric Houghton to the ground for a diving save.  Houghton's save then pushed the ball to the corner of the goal mouth, where it caught the post, caromed back in front of the empty net, where Fields was there to knock home the game winner.

Saint Vincent ends the season with a 4-14 record, 2-6 in the Presidents' Athletic Conferenc.  Waynesburg is 10-4-3 overall, 3-3-2 in the conference.
