The Saint Vincent men's basketball team improved to 8-0 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference with an 87-68 victory at home over Waynesburg University.  Four players scored in double figures for the Bearcats.

A three from Ben Klimchock and a jumper from Sean Kett gave the hosts a quick 5-0 lead.  The duo would combine for 12 of the team's first 15 points, as the Bearcats led 15-7 with 12 minutes left in the first half.

After the Yellow Jackets cut the margin to 19-15 with 10:10 remaining, Isaac Turner and Kett helped run the lead to 26-18 at the 7-minute mark.

A pair of free throws by Kett then made it a 10-point game (28-18) but Waynesburg eventually fought back, cutting the gap to just four, 35-31, after a baseline drive by Byrum Luoco, late in the half.

Turner scored with just 8 ticks left to make it 39-33 at the break.

The start of the second half was dominated by Saint Vincent, with a Turner layup, a three by Stith, and a trey by Turner making it 47-33.

Hot three-point shooting from Klimchock and Stith, along with strong inside play from Turner, kept Waynesburg at a distance.  Fabio Fortunato came off the bench late in the game to add seven straight points, sealing the win.

Turner and Stith tied for the game high with 20 points each, while Klimchock had 17.  Kett added 12, all in the first half, while Fortunato and JC Howard each scored 7.  Stith was tops on the rebounding chart with 14, while Kett tallied 7.

For Waynesburg (8-9 overall, 3-5 PAC), Christian Koroly led the way with 10 points, while Jason Propst added 8 points and 7 rebounds.  Luoco also had 9 points.

Saint Vincent is now 15-2 overall on the season, and is off Saturday before returning to action next Wednesday night at Washington & Jefferson.
