LATROBE, Pa. (Aug. 14)- Recent Saint Vincent men's basketball graduate Mike Iuzzolino signed a contract to play professional basketball for BC Roma SPQR in Rome, Italy.

BC Roma SPQR competes in Italy's highest professional league, competing in Series A and the Euro Cup.

Iuzzolino becomes the 19th player in Saint Vincent men's basketball history to sign a professional contract, continuing Head Coach and Athletic Director D.P. Harris' success in development of student-athletes and getting them to the highest level of competition. Harris also coach seven professional players while at Saint Thomas University in Miami, Florida as well.

"Mike is someone that I have had the privilege of knowing since he was eight years old, so to see him reach this point in his career is very special," Harris said of Iuzzolino. "I have been able to watch firsthand the time and effort that Mike has put in to get to the point where he is at now and I am extremely proud of him. We wish Mike nothing but the best of luck and are extremely proud of the way he represents Saint Vincent College and our basketball program. (Mike) had a great career in college and we look forward to watching all he can do in Italy."

After transferring from Division I Bryant University in 2022, Iuzzolino put together a solid career with the Bearcats. He played in 93 games, starting in 92 of those games over his four years at Saint Vincent. Iuzzolino scored 1,170 points (12.6 PPG) and recorded 94 steals, while grabbing 228 rebounds throughout his Saint Vincent career as well. He earned Presidents Athletic Conference All-Conference honors twice throughout his Saint Vincent career, earning All-PAC Honorable Mention honors in 2023-24 and All-PAC Second Team honors during the 2024-25 campaign.

Iuzzolino becomes the first player in the program to sign a professional contract since Dillon Stith signed to play in Australia in 2015. Mike will travel to Italy August 17th to begin his professional playing career.

"It's a blessing to be able to have this opportunity to continue my playing career," Iuzzolino said. "These kinds of opportunities are hard to come by and it's definitely a childhood dream come true. Saint Vincent has meant a great deal to me in my life with all of the people who have surrounded me and have encouraged me through the years to be able to do what I do. The students and staff who came to every game and the athletic trainers who kept me healthy along with my teammates and coaches, I couldn't have done any of this without them. Saint Vincent will forever be a home for me and holds a special place in my heart, no matter how many miles away I am."
