(Oct. 4) - After a frustrating nonconference portion of the schedule, the Saint Vincent College women's soccer team got the opportunity to turn the page with the start of Presidents' Athletic Conference play. They did so by traveling to Pittsburgh and defeating host Chatham 2-0. The victory was the first in the collegiate coaching career for first year head coach

After a scoreless first half, SVC found the back of the net when senior midfielder
Amie Dobracki tallied her first goal of the season to give the Bearcats a 1-0. Dobracki's goal came in the 51st minute of play and was assisted by junior forward
Emily Johns. SVC doubled its lead when junior forward
Meghan Smith scored on a header in the 66th minute of play to give SVC a 2-0 advantage. The goal was Smith's third of the season for SVC.
That was all the Bearcats would need to seal up their first victory of the season, as sophomore goalkeeper
Meghan Lyden registered five saves in 90 minutes of action. The Bearcats held a 20-to-5 advantage in shots for the match, including a 15-to-4 advantage in the second half.
Saint Vincent (1-0, 1-9) returns to action when they host W&J for another PAC matchup on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 4 p.m.
