LATROBE (Feb. 13) – The Saint Vincent men's and women's basketball teams have teamed up with the Student Government Association and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee to bring a day of breast cancer awareness to the Carey Center.

On Saturday, Feb. 15, when the Bearcats host Bethany at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., not only will it be the regular season Presidents' Athletic Conference home finale for SVC, a total of five senior Bearcats will be recognized.

Among the events going on, there will be Bearcat basketball t-shirts for sale with the breast cancer symbol, pink lemonade and a 50/50 drawing. All proceeds benefit breast cancer awareness and research.

Elle Collins during the women's game and associate head coach Jeff Mallory and senior
Dillon Stith, the only brothers to score 1,000 points at Saint Vincent, during the men's game.

In the women's contest, Saint Vincent will look for the season sweep against the Bison after posting a 78-53 win in West Virginia earlier this season. The Bearcats have won 11 of their last 13 games, and hold a three-game lead for second place in the conference at 13-2 in the PAC, 16-6 overall. The Bison have won three straight contests and sit alone in sixth place in the PAC with a 7-15 overall record and 6-9 league mark.

Saint Vincent is led by senior
Taylor Mathers, who ranks fifth in the league with a 14.4 points per game scoring average and ninth in the conference with 7.7 rebounds per contest. Collins is ninth in the PAC at 13.0 points per game and has made the second most three-pointers (43) in the conference.

Bethany's Taylor Verrico leads the Bison and is tied for 10th in the conference with 12.9 points per game. The senior also averages 7.3 rebounds per game, 11th in the conference. Sophomore Sami Schott is also in double figures for the Bison, posting 11.4 points per game (15th in the PAC) and 7.6 rebounds, 10th in the league.

The men's match-up will pit first-place Saint Vincent (19-3 overall, 12-1 in the PAC) and second-place Bethany (18-4 overall, 11-2 PAC), which is tied with Thomas More for the second spot. Saint Vincent earned an 83-77 victory at Hummel Field House the last time the two teams met on Jan. 11.

Saint Vincent boasts the top two leading scorers in the PAC in seniors
Isaac Turner and Stith, who average 21.3 and 19.5 points, respectively. Stith also tops the conference in rebounding and is the only player averaging a double-double at 10.0 rebounds per game. Stith has posted seven-straight double-doubles en route to a league-leading total of 14, while Turner has scored 20 or more points in 16 of 22 contests this season.

Sophomore
JC Howard (11.5 points) and junior
Sean Kett (10.7 points) also average in double figures for the Bearcats. Kett's 7.8 rebounds a game are fourth in the league as are Howard's 3.6 assists.

Junior Delonte' Joyce leads Bethany and ranks fifth in the league at 16.1 points a contest. Senior Kevin Jackson is ninth at 13.3 points per game. Jackson and classmate Leslie Addy are the top two rebounders for the Bison at 6.6 and 5.7 per contest, respectively. Joyce also ranks second in the conference and among the national leaders at 3.2 steals per contest.
