The Purple Raiders (2-2) scored the first four goals of the match before Saint Vincent finally got on the board when freshman
Zachary Lakenan found the back of the net for his team leading third goal of the season. Mount Union outshot the Bearcats by a 30-to-12 margin, attempting 15 shots in each half of play. Saint Vincent was led offensively by Lakenan, who tallied the Bearcats lone goal in the 84th minute to help avoid the shutout.
Colin Combs led Mount Union with two goals, including the first and last Purple Raider goals of the match. Saint Vincent senior goalkeeper
Eric Houghton recorded 10 saves while taking the loss. Sophomore
Scott Luthy tallied a team-high four shots for SVC.
Saint Vincent returns to action when they host La Roche on Saturday, Sept. 13. The match is slated to begin at 1 p.m.
