The visting Blue Streaks (5-3) tallied four first half goals as they raced out to a 4-1 halftime lead over the Bearcats (2-7). SVC broke up the shutout late in the first half when sophomore forward
Scott Luthy tallied his third goal on the season, off a pass from
Constantine Barlamas. The Bearcats lone goal came in the 41st minute of action.
John Carroll finished up the scoring with two goals from Jesse Marinaro in the second half to put the finishing touches on the victory. Freshman
Kenan Ruffner tallied a team-best four shots for SVC in the loss. Senior goalkeeper
Eric Houghton started and took the loss, making six saves. Freshman
Sam Hayward played the second half, stopping five shots over the last 45 minutes of action.
Saint Vincent returns to action Wednesday, Sept. 24, when they travel to face Penn State Behrend. Start time is set for 7 p.m.
