BOX SCOREERIE, Pa. (Sept. 24) - The Saint Vincent men's soccer team allowed five first half goals and dropped a 6-0 decision on the road at Penn State Behrend.
The host Lions (6-3) got a pair of goals from Jimmy Belack in the first 12 minutes of the contest. Behrend then added three more goals before halftime. Belack scored in the 63rd minute to seal up a hat trick and close out the scoring. Saint Vincent (2-8) was dominated on the offensive end, as they were outshot by a 22-to-3 margin in the contest.
Playing shorthanded, Saint Vincent started freshman
Sam Hayward in net. Hayward played all 90 minutes and recorded 10 saves in his first collegiate start. Freshman
Zachary Lakenan and sophomore
Chris Page recorded the only two shots on goal for SVC.
The Bearcats return to action when they travel to New Concord, Ohio to face Muskingum University on Saturday, Sept. 27. Match time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
