Kenan Ruffner scored his first two collegiate goals to spark the Saint Vincent men's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Pitt-Bradford.
Ruffner gave the Bearcats their first lead of the season in the 17th minute, scoring on a header off of assists from freshman
Zachary Lakenan and sophomore
Kevin Proctor. The goal gave the Bearcats some early breathing room and the ability to play with a lead. The Bearcats remained up by one throughout the first half and all the way until the 73rd minute when Ruffner found the back of the net for the second time in the contest. The freshman scored on another header, this time off an assist from sophomore forward
Eduardo Wills.
The Bearcats added another goal less than three minutes later when Wills tallied his first goal of the season off an assist from sophomore forward
Scott Luthy. Senior goalkeeper
Eric Houghton made eight saves to record his first shutout and first victory of the season in net. Saint Vincent as a team out-shot Pitt-Bradford 19-11.
Saint Vincent will look for another victory on Sunday, Sept. 7, when they host Franciscan. Start time is slated for 3:30 p.m.
