The Saint Vincent football team fell to nationally ranked John Carroll University by a score of 44-0 on the road in Cleveland, OH.
After two consecutive defensive stops by the Bearcat defense, John Carroll got on the board first at the 4:21 mark of the first half when Wes Keller found Aramis Greenwood for a 19-yard touchdown pass. Three plays later, a
Matt Deakins pass was tipped into the hands of a Blue Streaks defender, which led to a score on the next play, this time from Keller to Marshall Howell.

On the next drive, another interception by JCU setup a 14-yard touchdown run by Tommy Michals, making it 21-0, just before the end of the first quarter. Â At the 8:23 mark of the second quarter, John Carroll capped off a 94 yard drive on a 1-yard run by Michals.
Â
With 1:21 remaining in the second quarter, SVC freshman
Luke Deanovich stripped the JCU quarterback and it was recovered by
Matt McCarthy. However, time would run out on the first half with the score at 28-0.
Â
The Blue Streaks started the third quarter with a 10-play, 89-yard drive that ate up nearly half of the quarter, capped by a 25-yard pass from Keller to Howell that made the score 35-0.  Later in the quarter, Deakins was called for intentional grounding in the end zone, which by rule is recorded as a safety, making the score 37-0.
Â
In the fourth, John Carroll added another passing touchdown from 2-yards out from Shaefer to Rich Miller, making it 44-0, which would be the final.
