Leading the way was senior
Zach Ligus, who finished in first place in 100 Free (48.02), the 100 Fly (53.08) and the 200 Butterfly (1:57.57). The top finish in the 200 Butterfly also established a new pool record for the event. Ligus rounded out his day by helping the SVC Men's 200 Free Relay team to victory. Ligus was joined on the team by
Kyle Garase,
Xander Emili and
Alex Bolen, as the group finished 1:29.13.
Senior
Andy Moog put together a strong day on Senior Day, finishing in first place in the 100 Breaststroke (1:01.69) and 200 Breaststroke (2:18.05). Moog added a third place finish in the 200 IM (2:11.44).
Xander Emili finished in first place in the 200 IM, besting the competition by nearly eight full seconds, touching the way with a time of 2:00.92. Emili finished in second place behind Ligus in the 200 Fly, with a time of 2:00.75.
Bolen finished in first place in the 200 Free, with a time of 1:47.99. Teammate
Matt Crum finished runner-up with a time of 1:55.21. Bolen and teammate
Kameron Faychak finished in second and third place respectively in both the 50 Free and 100 Free events.
Adam Gordish took second place in the 200 Backstroke (2:04.00).
Brian Flynn and
Sean Doyle took the top two spots in the 1000 Free, with times of 10:39.22 and 10:44.23. Doyle and Flynn finished in second and third place in the 500 Free.
SVC returns to competition at the PAC Championships, which run from Feb. 12 through Feb.14.
