FINAL TEAM SCORESFULL RESULTSLANCASTER, Pa. (Nov. 22) - The Saint Vincent men's swimming team finished in fourth place of the team standings at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational.
SVC totaled 971 team points for the three-day competition. The University of Delaware, a Division I institution, finished in first with 1757 points.
The Bearcats put together several solid finishes on Sunday to wrap up the competition. The Bearcats 400 Free Relay team came in fifth place, with a time of 3:11.76. The relay team consisted of
Alex Bolen,
Xander Emili,
Matt Tashima and
Jacob Davis.
Bolen added a fifth place finish in the 500 Free, with a time of 4:50.81. Emili touched the wall in 1:57.46 in the 200 IM event, good enough for fifth. Emili added a seventh place finish in the 200 Fly event, with a time of 2:00.60.
Adam Gordish came in sixth place (1:59.03) and
Brian Flynn finished in eighth place (2:03.08) in the 200 Back event. The time set a new school record for Gordish. Davis finished in the eighth spot in the 100 Free, clocking in with a time of 47.89.
Freshman
Michael Marinchak finished at 1:00.81 in the 100 Breaststroke event, good for seventh place.
SATURDAY RECAPThe Saturday afternoon session primarily was made up of preliminary events. However, there was one event that counted in the team standings. SVC finished in sixth place in the 800 Free Relay. The quartet of
Matt Tashima,
Adam Gordish,
Matt Crum and
Alex Bolen came in at 7:15.02.
Freshman
Jacob Davis continued his strong freshman season, placing fifth in the 50 Free. Davis came in with a time of 21.55. The freshman put together another top finish, coming in third place in the 100 Back. His time in that event was 52.86. Sophomore
Adam Gordish came in fourth place in that event, with a time of 53.29.
Xander Emili came in fifth place in the 100 Fly, with a time of 52.78. Sophomore
Kameron Faychak finished in the top eight, touching the wall with a time of 2:16.07.
The Bearcats 200 Medley Relay team finished in fifth place, with a time of 1:37.78.
FRIDAY RECAPLeading the way was sophomore
Alex Bolen, who put together a third place finish in the 1650 Freestyle event. Bolen recorded a time of 16:44.87 in the event, trailing only two competitors from Division I Delaware. A total of 31 competitors were in the event. Senior
Matt Crum came in sixth in the event, with a time of 16:59.19.
The SVC relay team of

Matt Tashima and Bolen came in with a solid fourth place finish among 18 teams in the 200 Free Relay. The quartet put together a time of 1:25.74.
The Bearcats rounded out the evening in the 400 Medley Relay, with the top SVC team coming in sixth place. The quartet consisted of Davis, Emili, Bolen and freshman
Michael Marinchak. The group touched the wall with a final time of 3:34.07.
