FULL RESULTS WASHINGTON, Pa. (Dec. 5) - The Saint Vincent swimming teams earned victories over W&J. The SVC women topped the Presidents 156-132 and the SVC men beat the Presidents 193-101.
The win improved the SVC men to 5-1 overall and 2-0 in Presidents' Athletic Conference. Meanwhile, the Bearcat women pushed their record to 4-2 overall and 1-1 in the league.
Leading the way for the Bearcat men was sophomore
Alex Bolen, who was first in the 200 Free, with a time of 1:47.64. Bolen also took the top spot in the 50 Free, with a time of 22:44. In the 500 Free, the sophomore finished in first place, with a time of 4:57.66.
Bolen was also a part of the 400 Free Relay team that took first place, putting together a 3:19.76. Bolen was joined by
Jacob Davis,
Matt Tashima and
Kameron Faychak. The relay team in the 200 Medley Relay finished with a time of 1:39.89. The quartet was made up of Davis,
Adam Gordish,
Xander Emili and
Michael Marinchak.
SVC took the top three spots in the 1000 Free event, as
Matt Crum finished first (10:29.09) and
Brian Flynn and
Sean Doyle finished in the next two spots. Davis was first in the 100 Back, timing in at 54.79.
Marinchak, Emili and Faychak claimed the top three spots in the 100 Breaststroke. Gordish and
Alek Kraft finished 1-2 in the 200 Fly. Meanwhile, Davis (48.20) and Tashima (49.20) came in first and second respectively in the 100 Free. Gordish came in first place in the 200 Back and Faychak was tops in the 200 Breaststroke. Emili added first place finishes in the 100 Fly (55.45) and 200 IM (2:04.47).
Marissa Frollo led the way on the women's side, placing first in the 50 Free (25.63) and second place in the 100 Free (56.77). Frollo also was a participant on both relay teams that finished in first place. Frollo was joined by
Kelly Kramer, Katherine Guevara and
Grace Reynolds on the 200 Medley Relay (1:54.88) team.
Maddie Bartrug,
Samantha Mears and
Cassie Trudel joined Frollo on the 400 Relay team that took first place at 3:46.14.
Reynolds put together a strong day at W&J. Along with her first place team finish in the 200 Medley Relay, Reynolds finished first place in the 200 Breaststroke at 2:38.41 and first in the 100 Breaststroke (1:11.78).
Bartrug came in first place in the 200 Free (1:56.25), the 100 Free (54.00) and the 100 Fly (1:00.81). Kramer added a first place finish in the 200 IM, with a time of 2:19.27.
SVC travels to the University of Mount Union for a non-conference matchup on Friday, Dec. 11. Start time is set for 5 p.m. in Alliance, Ohio.
