The SVC men's lacrosse team won its opener in the new Ohio River Lacrosse Conference, posting an 11-8 victory on the road in Indiana over Hanover College.

The opening half belonged to Hanover, as the outshot SVC 15-11 and took a 5-2 lead into the break.  SVC's lone first quarter goal came from Bryce Pasquariello, and it was Pasquariello that gave the team a boost at the end of the first 30 minutes, scoring with just 3 ticks left on the clock to bring the deficit to three.

SVC came out of the break in fine fashion, as Nick Pensyl scored in the first minute of the third quarter, following just over a minute later by an Anthony Hogeback goal.  Just 21 seconds later, Patrick Kenna tied the game off an assist from Hogeback.

Hanover regrouped and took a 6-5 lead at the 9:25 mark of the third quarter, but Pensyl added a pair of goals to give the Bearcats their first lead, 7-6,a s the 4:49 mark.  However, the hosts came back with a pair of goals to make it 8-7 at the 3:00 mark.  Pensyl's fourth goal of the game, just 31 seconds later, tied the game 8-8 heading to the fourth quarter.

The final 15 minutes belonged to the Bearcats, as they dominated play by outshooting Hanover 13-3, and posting the only three goals of the quarter, one each by Pasquariello, Pensyl and Brendan Masten.

Pensyl and Pasquariello each tallied six points on the day, Pensyl with 5 goals and 1 assist, while Pasquariello had three goals and three assists.  

Greg Gonzalez posted three saves on the day and picked up the win in the net.

SVC is now 3-3 overall, 1-0 on the ORLC and will return to action on Wednesday (March 25), traveling to Maryland to face Frostburg State at 7PM.
