BOX SCOREFROSTBURG, Md. (March 25) - The Saint Vincent men's lacrosse team lost 20-3 at undefeated Frostburg State at Bobcat Stadium in Maryland in nonconference action.
Saint Vincent saw its overall record fall to 3-4 this season. Meanwhile, the host Bobcats improved to 10-0 overall.
Frostburg State pushed out to an 11-0 lead after the first quarter and never looked back en route to victory. SVC's first goal came from
Bryce Pasquariello off an assist from
Jon Souders, that opened the second quarter scoring.
FSU extended their lead to 15-1 at halftime, after rattling off the next five goals. After two more goals made it 17-1 Frostburg, SVC responded with two man-up goals from senior
Tim Oxenreiter. Both were assisted by
Anthony Hogeback.
After cutting it to 17-3, SVC would see Frostburg score the final three goals of the match.
Frostburg held a 58-12 advantage in shots, including a 38-2 margin in the first half of play.
Junior
Greg Gonzalez got the start in net and played all 60 minutes, recording a season-best 17 saves.
SVC returns to Ohio River Lacrosse Conference play on Saturday, March 28 when they face Mount St. Joseph University in Cincinnati, Ohio. Start time is set for 1 p.m.
