Game two was a different story, as the teams combined for 10 runs and 26 hits. Grove City took an early lead with a run in the top of the first, before SVC answered with a single run of their own in the bottom half of the frame. Both teams did the same in the third inning and fourth inning, Emert slugged second home run of the season to knot the score at 3-3 in the fourth.
Grove City broke through with a run to regain the lead in the sixth before adding three insurance runs in the top of the seventh so secure the split.
Emert led the Bearcat offense with a 3-for-3 performance at the plate in game two. Swettlen went 3 for 4 with a double at the plate in game two to finish off her rather productive day offensively.
Emily Duerr chipped in two runs and two RBIs in the game two loss. Duerr worked seven innings, allowing seven runs (six earned), dropping her season record to 7-2.
