FULL RESULTSMEADVILLE, Pa. (Jan. 30) - The Saint Vincent men's swimming team competed in a tri-meet, hosted by Allegheny College. The Bearcats fell 134.5 to 126.5 to the host Gators but defeated Penn State Behrend by a 167-95 margin.
Xander Emili led the way on the men's side, taking first place in three different events. Emili was tops in the 200 IM (2:01.27), the 100 Fly (54.49) and the 200 Fly (2:02.08).
Freshman
Jacob Davis had a strong day, posting a first place finish in the 200 Free (1:49.51) and second place finishes in the 100 Free (48.54) and 50 Free (22.32). Davis was joined by
Matt Tashima,
Kameron Faychak and
Alex Bolen as the top quartet in the 200 Free Relay (1:28.93).
Sean Doyle came in second place in the 200 Free, just behind Davis with a time of 1:52.04. Faychak was third in the 100 Breast (1:04.04) and second in the 200 Breast (2:22.33), while Tashima took third in the 100 Free (50.40).
Bolen was tied for third in the 50 Free (22.67) and second in the 500 Free (5:01.91). Bolen and
Matt Crum was 2-3 in the 1000 Free, with respective times of 10:22.60 and 10:22.66.
Adam Gordish was third in the 200 Back, coming in at 2:05.84.
The Bearcats added a second place finish in the 200 Medley Relay, with a time of 1:41.01. The team consisted of Gordish, Faychak, Emili and Tashima.
With the split, SVC's overall record now sits at 8-3. The Bearcats return to action with the PAC Championships on Feb. 11-13. The three day event is hosted by Grove City College.
