Nationally ranked Thomas More tops SVC

The Bearcat women's soccer team was unable to generate any offense in a 2-0 loss to a tough squad from Thomas More College in the Presidents' Athletic Conference opener on the road in Kentucky.

Thomas More outshot SVC by an 18-0 margin for the afternoon en route to the win.

The SVC defense played well throughout.  The game was scoreless through much of the first half, before Olivia Neinaber scored in the 41st minute, to make it 1-0 in favor of the hosts at the halftime break.

The Bearcat defense again was strong in the second half, allowing just one late goal on a rebound in the 82nd minute.  Melissa McCarthy saved three shots in the first half, while Corinne Burk posted a trio of second half saves.

SVC (1-4-4 overall, 0-1 PAC) will travel to Greenville on Wednesday for a 4PM matchup against the Thiel Tomcats.
