BETHANY, W.Va. (Oct. 12) - The Saint Vincent women's soccer team played to a 0-0 double overtime tie at Bethany College in Presidents' Athletic Conference action.
The Bearcats out-shot Bethany by a 21-10 margin in the 110 minutes of play, while also holding a slight 6-4 edge in shots on goal. Pacing the offensive attack was sophomore
Natalie Luppold, who tallied a match-high five shots. Meanwhile, freshman
Leah Memmo and
Amber Brownfield recorded three shots each.
Corinne Burk got the start in goal, stopping two shots in the first half.
Melissa McCarthy served as the goalkeeper during the second half and both overtime sessions, recording two saves in 65 minutes of work.
The tie was the fifth this season for the Bearcats, breaking the previous single-season mark. SVC sits at 1-2-1 in PAC play and 2-5-5 overall. Bethany is 2-9-1 overall and 0-3-1 in conference action.
Saint Vincent hosts Grove City on Saturday, Oct. 15 at the SVC Turf. Start time is slated for 1 p.m.
