WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 19) -
Maggie Nelson tallied a pair of goals as the Saint Vincent women's soccer team downed Waynesburg 3-0 at Wiley Stadium in a Presidents' Athletic Conference contest.
Saint Vincent got off to a fast start, when Nelson opened the scoring with a goal in the 3rd minute of the match.
A little later on Nelson would add her second of the contest, scoring off a loose ball in the box after a corner kick. That Nelson goal would come in the 20th minute, giving the Bearcats a 2-0 advantage.
The Bearcats carried the two-goal lead into halftime, having out-shot Waynesburg by a 10-0 margin over the first 45 minutes of play.

Leah Memmo registered her first collegiate goal, scoring off a pass from sophomore
Calsey Holshue in the 63rd minute, pushing the Bearcats lead to 3-0. That was more than enough as the Bearcats earned the PAC win.
Corinne Burk got the start in net and earned the victory.
Melissa McCarthy played the second half in goal, stopping all four shots in goal.
SVC held a 18-5 advantage in shots for the match, including an 11-4 edge in shots on goal.
The win improves the Bearcats to 3-6-5 overall and 2-3-1 in league play. The loss drops the Yellow Jackets to 5-9-1 overall and 2-4 in PAC action.
Saint Vincent returns to action when they host W&J on Sunday, Oct. 23 for a conference matchup at the SVC Turf. Start time is set for 1 p.m.
