INDIANA, Pa. (Nov. 11) - After a week off from competition, the Saint Vincent swimming teams faced off with Division II Indiana University of Pennsylvania. The women fell by a 159-99 margin, while the men dropped the meet by a 152-96 score to the Hawks.
The Bearcat women started off the meet with a second place finish in the 200 Medley Relay.
Kelly Kramer,
Grace Reynolds,
Maddie Bartrug and
Marissa Frollo clocked in at a time of 1:53.49.
Kelly Kramer led the women's team with two second places finishes in the 200 Backstroke and 200 Individual Medley with times of 2:18.18 and 2:18.79, respectively.
Marla Turk added in a second place finish in the 200 Free touching the wall in 1:59.15. In the 100 Backstroke,
Sarah Sheldon etched in another second place finish in 1:02.66. Reynolds as well took second in the 100 Breaststroke clocking in at 1:10.73.
Ciara Lewis and Frollo finished 2-3 the women's 100 Free with times of 55.94 and 56.93, respectively. Frollo added another second place finish with time 1:03.70 in the 100 Butterfly.
The quartet of Bartrug,
Claire Kenna, Frollo, and Lewis were the winners of the 200 Free relay with a time of 1:43.46.
On the men's side, Jacob Davis took top honors in the men's 100 Free with a time of 48.21. The sophomore also added in a third place finish in the 100 Backstroke clocking in at a 54.70.
Sean Doyle was out-touched in a close race in the 1000 Free, posting a time of 10:37.49.
Matt Tashima clocked in at 22.82 in the same event.
Kameron Faychak added a second place in the 200 Breaststroke, at 2:21.42.
Adam Gordish had a strong performance in the 200 Backstroke (2:06.78). Gordish added a second place finish in the 100 Butterfly at 56.46.
SVC was involved in another close race, as
Alex Bolen came in second with time of 1:47.29 in the 200 Free. The junior added another second place finish in the 500 Free with time 4:57.87.
Finishing the meet, the quartet of Bolen, Davis, Tashima, and
Adam Tran won the men's 200 Free relay with a time of 1:28.52.
The Bearcats will be on the road to compete at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational in Lancaster, Pa. on November 18-20.
