GROVE CITY, Pa. (Feb. 13) – The Saint Vincent College men's swimming team finished in fourth place overall at the James E. Longnecker Invitational, which serves as the Conference Championship for both the PAC and AMCC.
Leading the way on day three was
Alex Bolen, who earned a PAC Championship in the 1650 Free, posting a time of 16:36.54. The first-place finish gave SVC 20 team points.
The Bearcats performed well in the 100 Free, as they claimed two of the top three spots. Freshman
Jacob Davis placed second with a time of 46.38, while
Matt Tashima took third place at 47.68.
The SVC 400 Free Relay team took second place. Competing on the team was Davis,
Xander Emili, Tashima and Bolen. The quartet clocked in with a time of 3:09.06.
Kameron Faychak came in seventh place in the 200 Breast, with a time of 2:13.26.
Xander Emili and
Adam Gordish were each in the top eight of the 200 Fly, with Emili finishing seventh and Gordish in the eighth spot.
Westminster finished strong, earning the PAC Team Championship, claiming 757 team points. W&J put together a second place finish with 550 points. Grove City followed with 536 points, while W&J had 516 and Bethany rounded out the PAC teams in the standings with 224.
Friday's Results SVC finished fourth in the 200 Medley Relay event to open Friday night. The group included
Adam Gordish,
Kameron Faychak,
Matt Tashima and
Alex Bolen. The quartet came in with a time of 1:36.16.
Later in the 800 Free Relay, SVC took third place to close out the evening's events.
Jacob Davis, Bolen,
Xander Emili and
Matt Crum put together a time of 7:10.20 for the event, garnering 32 team points.
Emili came in fourth place in the 100 Fly, with a time of 52.23, to give SVC 15 team points. Bolen added a fourth place finish in the 200 Free, giving SVC 15 team points as he finished with a time of 1:45.21.
Davis and Gordish both finished in the top eight of the 100 Back. Davis came in sixth (52.72) to set a new school record while Gordish finished in the eighth slot (54.72).
Sophomore
Sean Doyle finished seventh in the 400 IM, touching the wall at 4:26.48 and gaining 12 team points.
Westminster used a strong second day to surge into the lead, holding 487 team points. Grove City ranks second with 368 team points and W&J sits in third place at 354. SVC is in fourth place with 331, while Bethany is fifth among PAC teams with 157.
The Bearcats wrap up competition with day three of the PAC/AMCC Championships on February 13 (Saturday). Prelims start at 10 a.m. with the finals at 6 p.m.
Thursday's ResultsW&J sits in first place with 188 points after day one. Westminster (180) and Grove City (154) round out the top three. Saint Vincent is currently in fourth place (136) and Bethany in fifth (75).
Like the women's team, the SVC men earned a PAC Championship in the first event on the opening night of swimming. The team of

Matt Tashima and
Alex Bolen clocked in at 1:25.32 to win the title. The win was the Bearcats first ever in the event and stopped a five-year title run by Grove City.
Emili won the PAC title in the 200 IM after finishing third last year. Emili clocked in with a time of 1:56.62. The time was the best among PAC swimmers as Emili trailed only Nick Kost of Penn State Behrend.
Davis finished fourth in the 50 Free, checking in with a time of 21.70. Bolen came in fifth place in the 500 Free, posting a time of 4:46.24.
Rounding out day one, the Bearcats finished in third place in the 400 Medley Relay. The quartet of
Adam Gordish,
Kameron Faychak, Emili and Davis finished with a time of 3:31.95.
