Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Kennedy scores three in SVC win over Mt St Joseph

Jeremy Kennedy scored three times to lead the Bearcat men's lacrosse team to a 15-7 victory on the road in Cincinnati over Mount St Joseph in an Ohio River Lacrosse Conference game.

It took nearly six minutes of play for the game's first goal, as Frank Casile found the net off an assist from Anthony Hogeback to put the visiting Bearcats in front.  The lead doubled just over a minute later, when Hogeback again set up a teammate, this time Hunter Sharp, to make it 2-0.

MSJ got a goal back near the four-minute mark of the first, and the quarter ended with the Bearcats up 2-1.

The second quarter belonged to the Bearcats, however, as Ian Irvin, Alex Mueser scored, then Kennedy added a pair of goals to increase the lead to 5-1. After a goal by the hosts made it 5-2, Casile ended the half with an unassisted goal to send the Bearcats into the break in front by a 7-2 margin.

The third quarter was relatively quiet, with Joe Puvel tallying a goal near the midway point off a Jakob Lefchik pass. SVC outscored their opponents 3-1 in the quarter to take a 10-3 lead into the final 15 minutes.

Three goalies shared time in the fourth for Saint Vincent, but the Bearcats still outscored MSJ by a 5-4 margin in the fourth, to earn their second win of the season and improve to 1-1 in the ORLC.

Connor McMillen earned the win in the net, giving up just four goals in 53 minutes and recording three saves.  Kennedy had four points, adding an assist to go along with his goals, while Hogeback had four assists on the afternoon.  Casile and Ben Price each scored a pair of goals.

SVC is now 2-6 overall, and will face Washington & Jefferson College on Wednesday (April 5) on the road in Washington, PA.  Face off is set for 6:30PM.
