GROVE CITY, Pa. (Sept. 13) - The Saint Vincent men's golf team finished in fourth place among 10 teams competing in the annual Grove City College Fall Invitational, hosted at Grove City Country Club.
Freshman
J.P. Duffy claimed a second place finish to lead the Bearcats. Buffy carded a round of 73, finishing just three strokes behind individual medalist Ben Mullins (70) from La Roche.
Nate Yackovich finished 17th overall, shooting an 80 for his round.
Jimmy Dolan (83),
Richie Rossi (86) and
Ryan Owrey (91) rounded out the competing Bearcats at the event.
The Bearcats put together a team score of 322, which trailed team champion Grove City (307). La Roche College finished in second place (316), while Westminster (321) finished a stroke ahead of the Bearcats. Grove City B finished in fifth, followed by Westminster B, Thiel College, Waynesburg University, Carlow University and Bethany College.
Saint Vincent continues a busy week with the two-day Carnegie Mellon Fall Shootout on Sept. 16-17. The event will be played at the Links at Spring Church in Apollo, Pa.
