The SVC women's bowling team defeated visiting Pitt-Bradford in a pair of traditional games and a best-of-seven Baker series to remain undefeated.
With the sweep, Saint Vincent is now 9-0 on the season.
The Bearcats captured the opening game, a five-person traditional game, by a score of 831-734. Â
Dani Koehler had six strikes, part of a 198 game that led the team. Â
Meghan Christman finished with a 173.
In the second traditional game,
Jessica Guesman led the team with a score of 188, while
Abby Kyle finished at 187. Â
Mercedes Belch shot a 165 as SVC won by a team score of 853-747.
The match concluded with a best-of-7 Baker game series. Â SVC swept that series by a 4-0 margin. Â The Bearcats opened with a 146-133 win, then used three straight strikes from
Cheyenne Moore,
Julie Reichert and
Lexi Cobbin to pull away to a 182-160 victory in the second game.  In game three, the Bearcats struggled but still managed to win, 149-120.  In game four,
Morgan Barlock and
Rachael Heater struck in frames 2 & 3, helping SVC build an early lead. Â The team then cruised to a 173-105 win.
Koehler finished the Baker series with a 21.0 average per frame (210 game equivalent).  Heater was second at 18.6, followed by Cobbin (17.0) and Belch (16.0).Â
The Bearcats will take a week off from NCAA action to participate in their first United States Bowling Congress tournament of the season, the Roto Grip Classic in Kettering, Ohio next weekend, November 10-11.
