The Saint Vincent men's tennis team opened Presidents' Athletic Conference play with a hard fought 6-3 win over previously undefeated Geneva College.
The Bearcats' victory was sparked by three points from
Jonathan Prichard and reigning PAC player of the week,
Jon Oskin. The tandem tallied a 9-8 (6) win at first doubles before claiming straight sets victories in singles, 6-1,6-0 and 6-3, 6-0 respectively.
Zach Fox pushed Saint Vincent closer to a win claiming the fourth singles point by a score of 4-6, 7-5, 10-8.
Alex DeLuca finished off the Golden Tornadoes with a 7-5, 6-1 win at sixth singles. Also winning for the Bearcats was
Ryan Hartz, who held serve in 10 straight games to claim a 6-4, 6-4 victory at third singles.
With the win Saint Vincent's record now sits at 2-6 (1-0 PAC) on the year. Next up for the Bearcats will be a non-conference match against Pitt-Greensburg at the Greensburg Racquet Club. The match is slated for Tuesday, March 20 at 7:00 pm.
