LATROBE, Pa. (April 15) – The Saint Vincent men's tennis team took to the court against Bethany College for a Presidents' Athletic Conference and Senior Day match. The Bearcats came away victorious with an 8-1 win over the Bison.

Saint Vincent began the match up 2-0 as Bethany did not have a player for sixth singles, or a team for third doubles. Capitalizing on the good fortune, the Bearcats raced out to a 4-0 match lead after doubles play, thanks to an 8-4 win at first doubles by Jonathan Prichard and Jon Oskin, along with an 8-0 victory by Ryan Hartz and Zach Fox at second doubles.

Needing just one point in singles play to clinch the match the Bearcats stepped up and claimed four of the five remaining matches. Hartz delivered the final blow for Saint Vincent with a decisive 6-0, 6-0 win at third singles. With the win, Hartz finished a strong weekend in which he went 6-0 combined in singles and doubles play. Shortly thereafter. Fox finished a straight sets victory of his own at fourth singles, 6-1, 6-1. In his final career home match Prichard secured a 6-4, 6-2 victory at first singles. Oskin also put on a strong showing in a 6-0, 6-4 second singles victory.

Saint Vincent now has a record of 8-8 (5-2 PAC) on the year with one match to go before the PAC Tournament. The Bearcats will conclude the regular season on Tuesday, April 17 when they travel to Grove City for a 4 pm match against the Wolverines.
