The Bearcat baseball team lost both ends of a non-conference twinbill against crosstown rival Pitt-Greensburg by identical scores of 11-1.
Errors plagued Saint Vincent in game one, with 5 miscues leading to 6 unearned runs as SVC fell behind early and was unable to recover.
Brenden Lavely (1-1) suffered the loss, giving up 8 runs, but only two earned, in 3 2/3 innings.
Fred Gillespie threw one scoreless inning in relief.
Offensively,
Matt Evans and
Parker Janosko each had two hits. The lone SVC run came on a sacrifice fly by
Brady Duricko in the first inning.
Game two brought more of the same, as SVC committed three errors in the first inning and five for the game.
Ryan Shirley (0-1) started and took the loss on the mound.
Eddie Kilkeary drove in the Bearcats' only run.
SVC will be back in action on Saturday (May 5), wrapping up the regular season with a conference matchup at Thomas More College in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
